Art Retreat
A week of painting, and relaxation in the stunning region of the Dordogne, France.
Village Life - Come live the week in a French Village, slow down, enjoy leisurely 2 hour lunches, dine in cafes or buy your food at the local butcher, bakery and weekly market.
Everyone's Welcome - Painters of all levels are encouraged to join our resident artist, including beginners.
Get Inspired - You'll experience a painter’s paradise: rolling hills, winding rivers, Chateaux, medieval towns and stunning markets overflowing with local produce.
What You'll Learn - Beginner painters will learn all there is to know about painting with oil: brushes, paints and mediums, colour theory, techniques, composition, and developing observation skills. Intermediate students can choose to enhance their skills with more challenging subject matter and are encouraged to explore their own imagery as they see fit. Every participant receives plenty of one-on-one guidance.
Explore - Known as the land of 1000 castles, the Dordogne boast much to be discovered. From local attractions to traditional customs and an impassioned culinary heritage, the region is an inspired place for your art holiday.
John Climenhage has been painting, teaching and exhibiting throughout North America since 1989. As an instructor, he has taught all ages, from art schools to public schools and college. His studio practice and “en plein air” landscapes experiment with post modern approaches to abstract spaces. “There will be lots of laughter, camaraderie, good food & drink - with a little tourism thrown in for context." - John
